About

Designer, maker & Teacher

As a Sussex girl born and raised it’s difficult to ignore one’s surroundings. Living a stone’s throw away from the Sussex Coast and the South Downs means I’m not really short of inspiration from the natural world even on the greyest of dull winter days.

I’ve been making precious metal and gemstone jewellery professionally for over twenty years.

The Beginning…

I worked in my father’s workshop from an early age. Experimenting with metal, and moving on to designing and making pieces of jewellery in silver and copper. Leaving school in the 1990s I went on to complete an Art Foundation course at Northbrook College in West Sussex. Following this, I attended The Surrey Institute of Art and Design and Edinburgh College of Art.

And now…

I returned back to the south of England and started working at my studio near Steyning, where I worked for twenty years. I moved to a new studio near Arundel in 2019.

In 2012 I became a Fellow of the Society of Botanical Artists, which is quite an accolade as most of the members are painters and artists, there are only a handful of jewellers. Being able to work in the creative arts is a privilege.
